Pastor Sean - Lead Pastor

Sean recently moved to Hamilton, and is the teaching pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in Ancaster, Ontario. Sean grew up in a rough non-Christian family background raised by strippers and bikers, bouncing back and forth between Toronto and Winnipeg. A few years after moving to Saskatchewan he experienced an unexpected moment of conversion and became a follower of Jesus; this moment was then followed by a significant period of intellectual investigation. Because of his background, Pastor Sean is very sympathetic to those who have questions about the Christian faith. When he's not at the church Sean enjoys a good cup of tea, as well as road trips, board games, music, trips to the lake (Matthew 13:1), and spending time with his family. Sean has been in ministry for the past 12 years and has experience in both church revitalization and church planting. He has served in several Baptist denominations, as well as with a church in the Acts 29 Church Planting Network. He is currently finishing the last class of his M.Div through Briercrest Seminary. He is married to Kendra (nee Jaarsma), who grew up in Northern BC as part of a strong Christian family which has roots in Holland, and together they have two daughters, Cadence and Annikah.
